What is TGSOV?

Are you listening alone?d The Gospel Show One Voice is an hour which offers listeners a real variety of great music through which to praise God. Instead of restricting you to the songs that only a portion of the audience likes most, One Voice plays great songs of today and yesterday from many styles, while providing insights, humor, artist background, honest scripture and more!

The Gospel Show One Voice invites everyone to listen together, instead of favoring one group over another, and plays songs that reach a wide audience because they are just that good and are intended for God as the Primary audience instead of the people!

What isn't TGSOV?

are you listening?dThe Gospel Show One Voice isn't a countdown show. It isn't a haphazard collection of tunes. It isn't a list of one man's favorite songs. It isn't run according to whose recording company has the most money or the best connections. It isn't like anything being heard today! In one place you'll enjoy artists from now separated genres, come together in praise. You'll also laugh and get a few deep thoughts along the way. Come together at the table!

What is the goal of TGSOV?

Place An Alternate Description Here!d The goal of The Gospel Show One Voice is to glorify God by breaking down the barrier of ethnic separation that exists in the world of today's Christian music radio. It's a chance for people to hear quality songs that they may never hear otherwise, and take another step toward living like the family of God we're supposed to be. In addition, it's a chance to draw in unsaved listeners who enjoy the variety format as well, and are longing for some solid truth in a malleable world.

Why does TGSOV work?

It works because most people enjoy hearing a variety of music, as long as that music is good. Some folks are surprised at the variety of music they enjoy when given the chance to hear it. The idea isn't new, it's been proven effective for ages in secular radio. The only place that hasn't done it is Christian styled radio, and that is another reason why it works. Each test group since the beginnings of the show has said the same thing: "where can I listen to this?" It works because God honors those who honor Him and because people like good music. This has been the most exciting discovery in the development process of The Gospel Show One Voice. It has gotten positive reviews from so varied a group as a 15 year old bi-ethnic female, a 17 year old White male, a 27 year old Asian female, a 33 year old Mexican male, a 47 year old Black male, a 57 year old White female, an 83 year old White female, and almost everyone else you can imagine in-between!

Who is the host of TGSOV?

Me, Mark La Roi! I've had a heart for ethnic reconciliation all my life, and when God got me, that heart just grew stronger. I've seen the divisions in the church that divide people of color, and know that this does not match the heart of God. Since my start in the radio industry I've worked alongside men and women of tremendous experience in the broadcast industry who've been happy to share their library of experience. Thanks to my passion for good radio and their willingness to teach, I've gained in under a decade of experience, the kind of knowledge which takes most broadcasters a lifetime to learn. I'm always learning something new, finding the best music available, making good use of today's technology without relying on "tricks", and loving what I do. This is what I give to The Gospel Show One Voice.

Pieces of a Whole is the official blog of The Gospel Show One Voice. It's where I share some of my thoughts on building up the family of God, music and some everyday topics that we're all talking about around the water cooler. We really are pieces of a whole, y'know?

The fact is...

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." - John 13:34,35

To remember...

"I believe Jesus died for everybody, not just people in a 'target audience'" - Pastor Ron Key

Humbly stated...

I disagree with using the term "race" to describe people groups. That is, if you accept the term "human race" as valid. If you do, then any other designation of people using the descriptor "race" would by logical necessity be a sub-categorization.
I'm not sub-human. Are you?  - Mark La Roi
